I bought a lottery ticket the other day. The drawing came and went, and I didn’t check the ticket yet to see if I won.

I may not check it for a few weeks. If I don’t check it, it can be a winning ticket or a losing ticket, but until I actually take the time to look at it and compare it to the numbers drawn or take the time to find out if anyone purchased a winning ticket; I don’t know which type of ticket it may be. It is both at the same time. It’s a Schrodinger lottery ticket.

Follow my thoughts for a moment and let me explain because I want to give you a winning ticket.

If you don’t know the Erwin Schrödinger I’m taking about, he was a very famous Austrian physicist and philosopher known as one founder of modern Quantum Physics. In his great thought experiment, he spoke of a cat that lived inside of a sealed box with something that can kill it (in his case a radioactive atom), you do not know if the cat is dead or alive; until you open the box. So, the cat can be in a state of being both dead and alive at the same time. Both arguments can be correct until we open the box and prove that one is absolutely correct, and the other is absolutely incorrect.
